I have joined the dark side. And they don't have cookies.

Yes. It is true. I have joined...

I have vowed never to do so, but alas, it is become a reality.

Why, you may ask. Well, it all happened in my Feature Writing class. In short, peer pressure got the better of me. And now I am tweeting. Or at least trying.

My twitter names: MiaSamira15

I am ashamed. I can't even think. I just had to let everyone know.

I will be back with another post later this week after a full run thru of my play on Thursday, and a games session on Friday. Also, stay tuned for a picture of my ceramic piece I painted last Friday.

On the plus side, I'm now following Rockhurst on twitter, which, thank jebus because I totally forgot there was a blood drive today.

Family Weekend?

Being from Texas, I hardly ever see my family during the school year. My mom is always working, my dad, the same, and my sister, well, she is pregnant (son #2) and cannot travel right now. So when balloons and signs went up for Family weekend, I was a bit homesick.

Enter roommate. Enter ASM. Enter sorority mother, Erin Scott. And enter shopping.

This Saturday was the exciting culmination of a hard week. The early week began with, what I shall refer to the Window's Revenge. It was so pretty out last Saturday, that I decided to open the window. The following Sunday and early Monday my body and window went on an attack of my sinus. I was miserable and on OTCs for my aches and sniffles. On top of homework, sorority (Delta Xi Phi) philanthropy (American Cancer Society), and rehearsal (I'm directing Stoppard's The Real Inspector Hound - more info to follow), my head killed me. I needed the weekend. ASAP.

Friday was awesome. After class, my roommate, Monica, and I went to paint ceramics at Ceramic Cafe. It was relaxing; a very welcome relief from the hectic week. Later that evening, my rehearsal with my cast was amazing. They are all doing so freaking well! I really do love working with them. And the topper of the night was a late dinner at Minsky's with Monica and the best ASM (Assistant Stage Manager), Mitchell.

And back to Saturday. Erin, my sorority mother, and I went to Oak Park Mall. Our mission: get a computer, buy a book, and de-stress. Check. Check. Check.

Sunday will bring homework, another chill rehearsal, and sorority chapter. A typical Sunday

While I miss my family back home, I am glad I have a solid group of friends here at Rockhurst. I don't know what I would do without them.

So this is it for now. I know this is my first post, and you may be wondering about me. I will tell you more in my next post. I would do it right now, but I am starving, and there is Minsky's left over pizza in the fridge calling my name. I will be back soon to post more and load some pictures!

Some of my purchases from this weekend. The onesie is for my nephew. And the Rockhurst blanket...I bought that when I was a freshman. Best. Decision. Ever. I love that blanket!

PS: thank you Rockhurst for putting hammocks everywhere. I don't like lying in them, but I do like watching people trying to get in and out of them. *clap clap*
