Is it break yet?

Yep. The first week of school and I am already looking for a break.

This week was DXP's sorority recruitment. There was an event every night. We got to meet some amazing girls that I will (hopefully) call my sisters. Our recruitment ended with a scavenger hunt at Crown Center. We were split into groups and sent on a hunt. I had Carma and Erin in my group, as well as Loraine - a potential new sister.

Today is simply a relaxing day. For the most part. I made the huge mistake of watching "Infested" on Animal Planet. Note to self - have an exterminator on hand. It freaked me out. Needless to say, I just had to turn it off and head upstairs to catch up on some TV shows from the past week.

...oh yeah...and do some homework.

Warning - happiness.

I got another acceptance to law school....

Yep. Another Jesuit school. But if I survived Rockhurst for 4 years, what's another 3?

Words cannot describe how excited I am to be accepted into another law school (my first was John Marshall - also in Chicago). It is a high unlike any other. A sense of accomplishment. A sense of anticipation. Another hurdle through life I cannot wait to jump over.

The most difficult part of this time? The last 115 days (not that I'm counting). Not only will I have to go through the motions of class and other responsibilities, I am also saying goodbye to the family I have formed here. But I know that they will be there when I move on...

...to law school...

...probably in Chicago...

...or California...

...or Boston.

We're here!

I'm back!!!

First day of classes. Well, class for me. I had class at the early hour of 11am. It was seminar in group interaction with Dr. J. It is going to be an interesting class since we basically make our own syllabus. Tomorrow, I have three classes: screenwriting, painting, and cinema critique. SO EXCITED!!

And Friday, no class!

I will be having a super fun weekend ahead. I WILL be seeing the new "Underworld" movie and Friday night I will be hanging out with some friends at P&L.

On a sidenote, I gave Monica her Christmas present:

This is my copy of Mythology, but she really wanted it. I would like to post a picture of Monica, but she told me "If you post a picture of me, I will stab you in the throat while you sleep." In our roommate language, that means "thanks."

Can't you just feel the love??

This is the end...

...of my holiday trip home.

I leave on Monday for KC. Yet, I am as busy as ever: trying to squeeze in all my family and friends, food, me time, and quality Mystic time.

My grandmother will be joining the insanity tomorrow. She has come to see my new nephew. I have pictures. Somewhere. I can't find them. I will try. But let me just say that my new nephew, Dominic, is adorable, weighing in at 9lbs. 6 oz. Yeah, big baby. But healthy and loved. What else could you ask for.

Of course, I WILL be seeing "Beauty and the Beast" in 3D this Friday. I might flip out if I don't.

Like I said, I will be returning to KC for the homestretch. This will probably be the last time I will be home for a full 6 weeks. Coming in May, I do plan on leaving for law school. It is truly bitter-sweet as I will be embarking on the last semester at Rockhurst. My time here has been nothing short of spectacular. I'm not saying that Rockhurst is perfect. But that is what I love about it. It is a work in progress, and the progress is thanks to my family of peers and mentors in the faculty and administration. I am sad to leave, but happy about my time here. I know that when I look back, my memories will be happy ones.

Needless to say, just as I was excited to come home to Texas, I am equally as excited to go back to KC and get started on my last semester!!
